    You might notice a slight change to the taste or smell of your tap water due to a temporary change in disinfectant by Allen’s water supplier. Though your water might taste or smell different, it’s safe for drinking and bathing.

  1. Migratory bird nesting mitigation efforts

    Allen Parks and Recreation has begun preventive measures, including surveillance of dense tree canopies and periodic noisemaking deterrents, to discourage migratory bird settlement at Celebration Park and Stacy Ridge Park.
  2. Spring closure at Don Rodenbaugh pools will bring new waterslide, HVAC improvements

    Pool areas at Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center will close March 15 to June 1 while crews perform a major HVAC overhaul and demolish the existing waterslide. Other areas of the facility will remain open during this period.
  3. Don Rodenbaugh name change approved

    After 20+ years of operations, Allen Parks and Recreation’s most-visited recreation facility will get a name change. Following approval by Allen City Council, Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium will officially change its name to Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center.

    The new Fire Station 6 is under construction using funds approved by Allen voters during the 2016 bond election. Located at Ridgeview Drive and Watters Road, the new station will coincide with surrounding development along the SH-121 corridor.
