Jonathan Boyd


Jon Boyd became the City of Allen's Fire Chief on August 4, 2018. He served as the department's Assistant Chief of Operations since 2012 and brings extensive education and experience of the department into his role.

Chief Boyd has more than 20 years of experience in fire operations and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas, Dallas.

Assistant Chief Vaughn leads the Allen Fire Department's Support Services Division, including research, procurement and maintenance of the department's facilities, apparatus, supplies and equipment.

Assistant Chief Vaughn has more than 20 years of experience with Allen Fire Department and holds degrees in emergency medicine and fire department management.

Assistant Fire Chief
David Cannaday


Assistant Chief David Cannaday leads the Allen Fire Department's Prevention Division. The division issues permits, conducts hazard inspections, prepares for large-scale emergencies and provides educational resources.

Assistant Chief Cannaday holds a Masters Degree in Executive Fire Leadership from Grand Canyon University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program.

Greg Grimes


Assistant Chief Greg Grimes leads the Allen Fire Department's Operations Division, with management and coordination of the department’s public education, training and emergency response. His responsibilities include oversight of a $14 million budget and 102 personnel.

With more than 25 years of experience in firefighting, Assistant Chief Grimes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in the same field.
